At the beginning of the pandemic, many companies were forced to incorporate work from home (WFH) into their structure. Nowadays, to stay afloat in the current economy, remote working has become a practical solution to maintain the productivity of organizations.

However, this has been a time of adjustment and learning curve for all.

For this reason, we want to talk to you about the importance of rest while you work from home.

In addition, we will give you some important tips on what you can do during breaks and how to deal with the stress of remote work.

1. Make a schedule

It is important to establish a routine and set schedules, this will allow you to comply with all your work and home activities, it is also important that you include a rest time of at least 20 minutes. This, believe it or not, will help you improve your productivity.

2.Have a designated place to work

A good workspace should be organized within your home, a suitable space that contains all your necessary tools to work. Make sure you find a place with good lighting and everything that you need to allow yourself to achieve better concentration during the execution of your activities.

3. Add some music to your assignments

Playing music that matches your tasks can go a long way in keeping your mind productive, as well as taking short breaks to reduce eyestrain. We recommend soft lo-fi music and songs that include nature sounds to improve concentration levels.

4. Focus on one thing at a time It is advisable to focus your mind on one thing at a time and not several.

For this, we recommend putting together a list of tasks that are classified by priorities in relation to your goals, this way you will be able to focus better on those activities of greater importance. In addition, they will generate the feeling that you have achieved a goal, and in turn, you will avoid work overload and stress.

5. Take a break

We must recognize that it is easy to get distracted when you work from home and you may be tempted to never take a break to avoid this situation. However, don't let the guilt of working from the comfort of your home keep you from taking short breaks. Take advantage of these moments to get away from the desk, stand up and walk a bit, this will help you recharge energy to continue.

6. Practice mindfulness

Mindfulness, a type of meditation that forces you to focus on being intensely aware of your senses and feelings in the moment, is a great practice to implement into your workday. Short breathing exercises, relaxing the body, and being fully present will help reduce stress!
